Lifestyle choices are becoming more like a chore and I want to turn this back into a habit of mine that I enjoy especially when it means getting in the kitchen and cooking. Over the past I only allowed myself to have a strict diet and took the whole idea of healthy eating wrong, starving myself and only eating cucumber for rapid weight loss, then I went through a binge eating stage and then back to nothing, but now this time I have changed my habits for the better, I ruined the idea of eating healthy for myself and now find it more of a task more than just a love of food and passion.
I have now changed the way I look and think about food, kind of sounds like I’m dating it… I now experiment with all kinds of foods, yes I get busy and get slack, and then I end up stuck in a food slump but I’m no longer sticking to the same old food groups, I’m trying new things left, right and centre, delving into nourish bowls, smoothie bowls, smoothies, salads, vegetarian, paleo, vegan meals and just good old normal homemade dishes with the piece of cake here and there if I feel like it, and you know what? I have never been happier.
I haven’t gained weight, in fact, I have now maintained a healthy weight, and I even lost a bit. I am now happy with my body image and have grown significantly in my level of body confidence. So for my girls out there who know being vegan or vegetarian isn’t for them, there is nothing wrong with that, but there is also nothing wrong with being vegetarian or vegan. One of my best friends is vegan and another one is vegetarian and I am always inspired by their dishes, I love there cooking and I am constantly surprised by all that they do, but it’s time to make a statement that helped me, just eat what you want, be healthy but you know what? Have your cake and tea too.
Be confident in what you eat and do you, live and eat how you want to. You only get one life so live it how you want, have your salad with your green smoothie, have a vegan dessert or chocolate but if that piece of carrot cake or that lamington looks good to you, don’t feel bad, just go for it, all things in moderation and overall just eat what makes you feel happy. Eat a whole pizza if you want, my favourite pizza to eat is vegetarian on a wholemeal thin base and I eat the whole thing and do I care? No, because I know it won’t affect me when I eat things in moderation. I am thinking of starting a new blog post thread on Lifestyle Choices, the next blog posts to come in this thread would be on Beauty, travel, Lifestyle in general and so on. I would love to know if you lovelies would like to see more these type of blog posts and if you would like me to start the thread of Lifestyle Choices!
